Introduction to the Living by Water Proejct and the Community-based Action Program for Shorelines The Living by Water Project (www.livingbywater.ca) has been effectively contributing to changes in shoreline fashion from British Columbia to Ontario. This introduction will provide an overview of the project's products and services, and how it works to support existing groups and agencies. Time permitting after the seminar, conversation can continue informally over lunch (no host) with interested participants about potential roles for LbyW in Nova Scotia. Living by Water co-founders Sarah Kipp and Clive Callaway were awarded the Canadian Environment Gold Award in the Clean Water category in 2002. At the recent River Heritage Conference they were awarded a 10 year National River Conservation Award for their contribution to river conservation in Canada. Their book On the Living Edge -- Your Handbook for Waterfront Living has been printed in four regional editions (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan / Manitoba, and Ontario).
