There is an important event occurring on Wednesday,
July 14th.

It is the belief of many Nova Scotians that there is
an unnecessary amount of injury and damage to people,
private property and to the environment as a result of
unrestricted recreational All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
use. Nova Scotians feel that some form of control on
how these vehicles are used will help to reduce these
negative impacts while still allowing enthusiasts to
enjoy their sport in a safe and responsible manner.

After extensive public consultation, the Voluntary
Planning Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Task Force released
an interim report this year.  This report makes 48
recommendations about the safe and responsible use of
ATV/OHVs in Nova Scotia.  These recommendations
reflect suggestions made by concerned Nova Scotians,
and attempt to balance the recreational activities of
ATV/OHV users with the rights of other Nova
Scotians.    This report has recently come under much
attack from the ATV community.

On July 14th, a press conference will be held to
support the Task Force report.  This is your chance to
show your support for meaningful regulations governing
ATV use in Nova Scotia.  Your participation in this
event is very important, as this event will only
happen once.   We would like to see as many concerned
citizens as possible attend the event, to show their
support for the Task Force report.

The press conference will be held at the Old Orchard
Inn in Wolfville.  Stakeholders from various
organizations will be speaking to demonstrate their
support for reasonable controls on ATV use in Nova
Scotia.

Here is a link to the Inn's website:
http://www.oldorchardinn.ns.ca/home.htm.  Maps can be
found on the site. The press conference will begin at
11:00 am.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to
find a seat.

If you need a refresher on the Task Force report, go
to:  http://www.gov.ns.ca/vp/ohv/interim-report.htm.

We would like to see as many people as possible turn
out to this event.  Please feel free to bring other
members of your organization, or other concerned
citizens.

With your support, we can help to get ATV use in Nova
Scotia under control.

See you on July 14th!

Citizens For Responsible ATV Use (CRATVU)
