Dear friends,
A national action alert in support of the Petitcodiac River has just
been sent out to tens of thousands of Canadians across the country
to ask the federal government to keep its promise and work together
with the Province of New Brunswick to restore fish passage in the
mighty Petitcodiac.
With the approaching deadline of December 6th to provide comments on
the latest Petitcodiac River EIA findings, Petitcodiac Riverkeeper is
asking those that want a brighter future for our river to send a message
today to Prime Minister Paul Martin and Premier Bernard Lord in support
of the study's recommendation to reject the option of maintaining the artificial headpond.
The national environmental organisation Wildcanada.net, which boasts a membership of 30,000
network subscribers, has partnered with the Petitcodiac Riverkeeper for this action alert.
