Oxfam's Fair Trade Fair
Saturday, May 14
Time: 12noon - 4pm
Location: Victoria Park (corner of South Park and Spring Garden)
Find out where you can purchase Fair Trade Products in Halifax!  There will be
information booths, product sampling, children's entertainment and live music
by Second Front.

Amnesty International Halifax Chapter's First Annual Silent Auction "Break the
Silence"
Saturday, May 14
Time: 7pm-10pm
Location: Italian-Canadian Cultural Association, 2629 Agricola St.
The event will feature Alexa McDonough as the emcee, along with performances by
Fola, a West African Drumming, the El Viento Flamenco Dance Group, Dan Jeanes
of the Micmac Native Friendship Centre, and a short play.  This event is to
raise awareness to stop violence against women and to celebrate the
revitalization of the Amnesty International Halifax Chapter.
A ticket for Break the Silence silent auction is only $10 and is open to
families and people of all ages. Tickets can be purchased at the following
locations:
Sam the Record Man - 1656 Barrington St.
Duly Noted Stationary - 6224 Quinpool Rd
Daily Grind Newsstand & Café - 5686 Spring Garden Rd.
