THANKS to everyone who has sent or is sending in donations. The new ISP
will be a huge time-savings for your tired moderator.
Some of you asked if your donation triggers a tax receipt. Here is the
latest:
Sust-mar (Sustainable Maritimes) is not a legal entity. We're just an
email list. We sprang from the Sustainable Communities Network. But, I
believe that is defunct. So, there is no one to write you a tax receipt.
There's just me and I am not a registered charity.
So, if you send the donation to me I'll hold it in trust until I pay it to
the ISP or other sust-mar expenses. I will not keep any for me. In fact,
I'll contribute my own funds.
BUT ... Mike Nickerson of the Sustainability Project is familiar with
sust-mar. He agreed kindly to take sust-mar under his wing.

So, we can send donations to the Sustainability Project and he will
redirect them back to sust-mar and you will get a tax receipt.
BUT, it's a little more complicated than that because you actually have to
send your donation through the World Federalist Movement. They keep 10%
to cover their administrative costs and pass it on to Mike who forwards it
to me who pays the bills.
If this is all starting to sound like a campfire song or money laundering,
you may want to keep it simple and just send your money to me so it all
goes to work for sust-mar. Either way, you send your cheque to the same
address. But, if it is for sust-mar via the Sustainability Project via the
World Federalist Foundation, make it payable to "WFF-SP". If not, to "Paul
Falvo" or "Paul Falvo in trust for sust-mar"
Sorry this is so convoluted. If anyone would like to step up to the plate
and volunteer to be the Treasurer and hold on to the money or set up a
better system I'd be grateful.

And, speaking of help wanted, do we have a VOLUNTEER to be the
CO-MODERATOR once the new system is up and running?

By the way, I'll be hanging on to our CCN list so that we can revert back
if things don't work out with the new ISP and so that people who subscribe
after reading our sust-mar cards don't get lost in the move! (I'll just
redirect them). So, the cards will still be good.
