Spiritual Life

We are all spiritually hungry. We all wish for a way to fit together the separate parts of our lives. Perhaps we are married, have a good job with 2.5 children, loving family, or perhaps we are single, young or older, going to school, studying a profession - whatever - but our spiritual hunger is the same.

Fewer and fewer people find the spiritual meaning of their lives in formal religion. Many attend religious services but feel something is missing. They often have a vague sense of guilt that for some reason they cannot find the spiritual thread which holds together the various parts of their lives.

We go in many directions in finding this spiritual meaning. Many go off to the doctor and get some kind of medication. Others may see a counselor of some kind, others talk to friends or family, a very few talk to the clergy, some escape to drugs or alcohol. Some turn to the friendly bartender.

The universal question is: "What does it all mean?" Where are we going and how do we get there standing upright on our feet, not defeated, and overcome by life? How do we find out if life is on our side and how do we embrace this meaning?

We at Maranatha believe firmly that our psyche, or, soul is always trying to bring us into alignment with our deepest purpose and potential for life. Our psyche is concerned with helping us live out our potential, and discover the deepest meaning and purpose in our journey.
