{*} History of the MacIvor Clan in Canada [by John Munro MacIvor, 1922] {*}

Branches of Clan MacIver in Argyll appear to have assumed the name of Campbell, while those in the north and in Lewis are still known by the name of Clan MacIver.

According to Scots Kith & Kin, Clan MacIver or MacIvor was a sept of Clan MacKenzie of Ross and Lewis; and a sept of Clan Robertson of Perthshire. This text also refers to them as a sept of Clan Campbell of Argyll. Other sources indicate that MacIver and MacIvor were septs of Clan MacDonald of Glencoe.
