Dear Dr. Prior,
.
Re: Haggis Geophysics Letter of October 6, 1992
.
Ken Howells passed me a copy of a letter written recently to you from Alasdair McKay of Haggis Geophysics. Ken was copied on that letter. The subject matter of Alasdair's letter somewhat concerned me and has prompted me to write to you to clarify a few issues.

First, it is true that we have ceased all geophysical survey activity and are divesting ourselves of our geophysical equipment. This does not mean that we no longer care or are not in a position to care for the data we have accumulated over the years. We are very respectful of these data and are seeking to find a suitable "home" for this information as they are catalogued. I expect that "home" will be the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources.

Secondly, the ownership of this geophysical information rests with ourselves and in some cases, jointly with our clients. Dr. McKay is no longer an employee of the Nova Scotia Research Foundation and has no rights of ownership to these data. Dr. McKay does not represent the Nova Scotia Research Foundation nor is he empowered to act on our behalf.

Should you wish to discuss possible uses or access to these data in the future, I would be most receptive to meeting with you personally to discuss such opportunities.

Sincerely,

T. Nickerson, President ( N.S. Research Foundation Corp.)
