You will notice how round their heads are. To remember which is which... "G" has a round letter. The Greater scaup has a round head. "L" is a squarish letter so Lesser Scaups have squarish heads... Also on the Shearwater Flyer Trail near the 3 km marker; an American Mink crossed the trail from the nearby frozen pond on the south side4 and went into the woods on the north side.
