** THIS WEEK'S SKY AT A GLANCE

On Saturday, August 6, the MOON [Lune] enters its=20
First Quarter Phase meaning it will rise at noon and set at midnight.

On Saturday, August 13, the moon will go into its=20
Full Phase meaning we will see it all night to=20
give bright nights when skies are clear. Expect=20
higher high tides and lower low tides which can=20
be significant for shorebird watching.

On Saturday, August 6, the SUN [Soleil] rose at=20
06:13 and sets at 20:44. On Saturday, August 13,=20
the sun will rise at 06:21 and set at 20:34.

The BIG DIPPER [Grande Ourse], high in the=20
northwest, is now dipping around into its water-holding position.

This Week's Planet Roundup:

MERCURY [Mercure] and VENUS [V=E9nus] are hidden in the glare of the Sun.

MARS, at magnitude +1.4, rises around 3 a.m. By=20
dawn it's in good view in the east.

JUPITER, at magnitude -2.5, rises in the east-northeast around midnight.

SATURN [Saturne], at magnitude +0.9, is sinking=20
ever lower in the west-southwest at dusk.
