Today, during a petty largely birdless day, there was an adult graellsii Lesser Black-backed
Gull with the common species at Eagle Head Beach, E. of Liverpool. This is one of the best
places on the South Shore to look for this species during the fall and winter months.
The only other birds of note were an adult anatum-type Peregrine on the rocks at Western
Head, in a howling gale and amidst blowing spray, and a couple of Bonaparte's
Gulls at West Berlin wharf.
