I have been involved in fighting a = number of industrial projects that I believe would be detrimental to the = environment of the Neck and Islands. I've also been involved in our = community development association, which has worked to support and = encourage small business. We've had some success, some failures. Like = you, I think we have to expend more of our energy on sustainable = economic development. IF we have some bright ideas, than maybe some of = the profoundly stupid ones, like the quarry or open net aquaculture, = wouldn't have such legs with government. We all complain about the forestry industry and mining industry and = what it does to our natural resources so we should put our collective = heads together and come up with some employment solutions.
