Night migration over Antigonish County was quite light this week. It was
clear on the ground that there was a general arrival of Red-eyed Vireos.
This species does not have a night flight call so it doesn't show up in my
recordings. There was a very noticeable decrease in the number of sparrows
migrating, most species having arrived on the breeding grounds by now. The
dominant group this week was warblers. The summary of calls recorded
follows:

Spotted Sandpiper - 16

(These may now be local birds active at night)

Common Nighthawk - 4

Olive-sided Flycatcher - 1

Yellow-bellied Flycatcher - 2

Alder Flycatcher - 7

Swainson's Thrush - 8

Northern Parula - 7

Magnolia Warbler - 4

Cape May Warbler - 1

Black-throated Blue Warbler - 3

Black-throated Green Warbler - 1

Bay-breasted Warbler - 3

Blackpoll Warbler - 1

Black-and-White Warbler - 1

American Redstart - 15

Ovenbird - 13

Northern Waterthrush - 2

Common Yellowthroat - 22

Unidentified Warblers - 22

Savannah Sparrow - 1

Lincoln's/Swamp Sparrow - 1

White-throated Sparrow - 1

Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 3

Unidentified sparrows - 2

Scarlet Tanager - 2

Unidentified songbirds - 6

Unidentified birds - 2

Possible Brown Thrasher - 1

Total Calls - 154
