Index of Subjects My brother who used to live in Toronto, also had raccoon problems. The raccoons would stand atop the fence around his small downtown garden and would growl at his kids. Someone told him to put ground hot pepper on surfaces where the raccoons were clambering around. That seemed to deter them. Maybe it could be similarly used to keep them out of potted plants.
