Hi All=0AThis morning a friend and I went for a paddle on a small lake - 20=
0 ha as a guess=0Asurrounded by bog and lily pads.=A0=0AWhere we put the ca=
noe in there was a nice bed of Rose Pogonia - it is a lighter pink than=A0=
=0ACalopogon but a very attractive flower. =A0Seems to like areas like that=
.=0ALast week when we were there we saw a loon swimming around and suspecte=
d=0Aits mate was on a nest but we didn't go poking into the coves to find i=
t. Today=0Athe loon was still swimming around as the week before but today =
when we were=0Acoming back up the lake a second loon swam =A0 out from the =
shore followed by=0Aa very small loon. Perhaps less than a week old. They s=
wam around and the adult was calling=0Abut a very much higher pitched call =
than the first loon.=0AThis lake for years had a pair in the early spring b=
ut I never saw any young. Then=0Athe midnight stocker introduced small mout=
h bass to the lake and the loons have seemed more successful=0Araising chic=
ks. I'll leave it up to you to decide if there is any relationship!=0AAnywa=
