Yes, as far as I know, cecropias are common and widespread and have a  
variety of food plants for the larva -- they build a familiar brown  
cocoon on shrubs in the Fall, overwinter like that, and then "hatch"  
out as adult silk moths in late May or early June.  Cheers from Jim
