Hi Richard

A few years ago I had the same success one night in my Hantsport back yard
- except not only did they call back, the pair also flew very aggressively
into my backyard looking for the interloper! One bird was within 3 feet of
me when he finally veered up and over me, landing in a large pine in my
front yard while the second did the same. Quite a start to have a big,
angry, aggressive bird appear out of nowhere like that! Got a great look
at them both though. Also I found three fledged and creeping GH owlets
near a nest in mid April 2008. I guess they start early.
