Hi all
It has been awhile since I sent in one of my Temperance St. school ( New =
Glasgow) Chimney Swift reports. Numbers had stabilized at about 40 for a =
couple of weeks, but I noted an increase tonight (July 9) to 71 so looks =
like post breeding birds maybe be coming together before they depart for =
the south in a few weeks. Over the next couple of weeks will be a good =
opportunity to observe the swifts . Try for a clear evening and arrive =
30-40 min. before dusk. As far as I know, first birds went in at 8:55 =
tonight (I arrived at 8:53), but most went in about 9:10 with stragglers =
to 9:18. I will increase my reports every few nights if I can to give =
people a better idea of numbers and timing.=20
all the best

Ken
