I have eaten food-grade paraffin on many occasions, It's the shiny glaze =
on a recipe for peanut butter balls. As noted, it's not digestible and =
passes through the digestive system with no ill effect.=20

Homemade cake soap could be quite alkaline and caustic so it would =

Retail cake soap is I think nearly neutral or at least neutral =

long chain fatty acid (one arm of three of a trigliceride if I correctly =
recall) and should do in a pinch. There might be some glycerine =
(harmless). The perfumes etc that get added for consumer appeal are =

Paraffin was is harmless but I doubt that it is digestable.

A friend, who used to inspect old houses for potential buyers, said =
he always knew there were Deer Mice around b/c he would find chewed up =
soap bars and candles. Like Deer Mice, my Labrador also eats soap (and =
balls of wool and=85) due to the tallow or lanolin present. But when he =

I can see how a candle might go down OK but do not understand how =
Deer Mice survive after eating soap? Isn't it as impossible for them to =
digest as it is for the Lab? Or do they just hoard it and never actually =
eat it?
