* years ago (in Central NY) I was part of a party that put a winter fire 
in the stove of an otherwise unused cabin, and Cluster Flies boiled out 
of it in great numbers, to be eagerly eaten by Chickadees (and, I think, 
WB Nuthatches). So there are times when Birds eat these Flies when 
they're made available.
