Hi everyone,

Like a number of the people who have responded I helped out DNR a few times=
in the early 1980s. On one of these occasions we carried out work on an is=
land in the Liscomb-Country Harbour area which had a large colony of Leach'=
s Storm-Petrels on it. Any island off of the Atlantic coast of NS that is r=
at-free and has reasonably deep turf that can support burrowing probably ha=
s Leach's Storm-Petrels nesting on it.

If I count correctly, there are 17 squares showing confirmed breeding sites=
in the latest Maritime Breeding Bird Atlas for Nova Scotia. One of these s=
quares contains only Pearl Island and part of Flat Island so petrels are br=
eeding on one or both of these islands.

All the best,

Lance
