Hi Suzanne & All,
Dec seems very late for chokecherries. Are you sure they are not=20
something else ? I have a limited outing range these days but, drawing=20
on memory, and bushes at Evergreen Home, Chokecherries around after Oct=20
1 would be unusual. Also chokecherries rarely exceed a height of 6 M.
I didn't see the birds but about two weeks ago the car was=20
splattered with bird droppings (about 5 cm apart) of the undigested=20
fragments of Sorbus (Mountain Ash) from across the street. All this=20
happened within a period of about two hours, so large flock of birds=20
which grabs fruit then flies to a nearby perch, squirts out some, flies=20
back for more =3D some kind of waxwing.
yt, DW, Kentville
