I am less actively birdwatching than in the past (mea culpa!), and know we
still have a few boreals down here in the banana belt, but I last saw one on
the Chebogue Meadows Trail back in 2006!

Subject: [NatureNS] Boreal Chickadees

My brother was commenting yesterday about the large groups of Boreal
Chickadees he's been seeing in the woods at both Sight Pt on the W side of
Cape Breton and Ketch Harbour, HRM. The flocks at Sight Pt were way back
into the forest up the hill- a place he has never encountered them before.
Possibly banding together more than usual well back from the shore due to
the extreme cold and winds. Anyone else noticing this?

Nancy
