Hi all

The nova Scotia legislature is getting ready to break for christmas and is
madly trying to finish some promised business.

the endangered species act has been forwarded to the committee of the
whole, which will agree on ammendments, if any, then forward it to the
house for third reading. Could happen Monday.

the wilderness protection act (our 31 wildernesses) is before law
amendments with more to be heard on Monday. With A LOT OF LUCK it will be
sent to the hose for tuesday, and could see passage that day.

there may or may not be a wednesday, and if the house perogues then we
start all over again.

the wilderness bill is on the gov.ns.ca site under legislation. If you
want to comment please fax to the law amendments committee by noon monday.
If the speaker list gets much longer then we're looking at tuesday still
in LAC, so wednesday for the house, and there may not be a wednesday...

The more important place we could use help is in reminding mlas that this
is widely supported by the public. if you look at Hansard for thursday
the 19th you'll find weak support from the three conservative speakers due
in some part to pressure from the forest industry (and native ideology for
a couple). Call them or their constituency office and tell them what you
think.

you might also want to encourage the premier to contiue the sesion until
the wilderness act is through
