This is a request for the names of key people to invite to this
important event!

Dear Friend,

We are planning a unique workshop for people who share a concern about
the physical
environment of their community. This event will help people assess and
take action regarding
air, water and soil pollution in their neighbourhoods, whether as a
result of industrial chemicals,
pesticides, improper sewage disposal or other.

Resource people: Elizabeth May, Sierra Club;
Lia Daborn, formerly Executive Director of the Conservation Council
of
   New Brunswick;
Janice Harvey, Conservation Council of New Brunswick,
Community Representatives from the Sydney Tar Ponds, NS and from the
factory hog farm issue in Ste. Marie de Kent NB.

=46rom this event, participants can expect to:
- gain confidence, skills and knowledge in organizing in communities
facing environmental
health issues.
- learn from communities struggling with environmental health issues.
- gain experience with a community health audit/profile tool for use
back home.

We would like to reach:
- members of communities facing environmental health concerns, whether
now active or wishing
to become active.
- as well as community members, anyone supporting or training local
community
activists/concerned citizens in environmental concerns.

The total cost of this event is $245 (including room, board and
tuition). Bursaries are available
to support delegates.

Who do you think should attend this workshop? We are trying to identify
participants from
communities facing environmental health issues. Therefore, we are asking
you to forward the
names of those you know who would benefit from this workshop, along with
their E-mail and
regular mail addresses and their faxes and/or phone numbers. Also,
please pass this on to others
and join us yourself if you feel this workshop is for you. Please send
us the names and or
contacts no later than June 30th.

We sincerely appreciate your helping us to locate appropriate
participants for this event. Please
contact Bonnie Zinck with names of individuals or groups who you think
should be invited:
