Please pass this on to anyone who would be willing and able to volunteer with the Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network (ACORN): Opportunities to volunteer with ACORN are coming up in August and September at Harvest Fairs in all four Atlantic provinces. The tentative schedule is below, and more Harvest Fairs will be added to the list as details are confirmed. Please contact us for the updated schedule. Typical volunteer duties at the Harvest Fairs include one or more of the following: set-up and tear-down of promotional booth, staffing of booth during fair, and networking among other booths. Harvest Fairs: -August 16-20, Kensington Community Harvest Festival, Kensington, PEI -August 22-24, Evolve Festival, Antigonish, NS -Sept. 6-7, Falls Brook Fall Fair, Knowlesville, NB -Sept. 11-14, Gagetown Fair, Gagetown, NB -Sept. 13, Urban Farm Museum Harvest Day, Spryfield, NS ACORN also seeks volunteers on an ongoing basis for: -freelance photography of farms, processing facilities, produce and products -staffing for a variety of duties at annual conference (coming up in March 25-27 in Charlottetown), in return for passes to conference sessions -freelance newsletter articles on the organic industry in the Atlantic region and beyond -promotion of ACORN at various events and meetings -assistance on various ACORN committees If you are interested in volunteering and would like to find out more, please contact info@acornorganic.org or Laura at (902) 425.1797. ____________________________________________________________________________ Did a friend forwarded this to you?
