Posted by the Reclaim the Streets Halifax

Bike Parade Friday July 15
Gathering at 5pm for costumes, bike decorations and floats.
Departure at 6pm
Bring your own decorations
Location: Park Victoria, corner of Spring Garden and South park st. across from public gardens.

A fun parade for all who wish to participate and to enjoy the pleasures of riding with many other
cyclists, roller bladders, in line skaters, unicyclists, tandems and floats. All ages welcome,
this is a safe and fun filled ride. Get costumed, face painted, sparkled with angel dust, carnival
flags, bells, drums, whistles, sound systems, and any fun things you can think of with a bicycle.

Reclaim the Streets Halifax advocates for an area of Halifax to be car free with access to shops
and services so they can live comfortably without the use or ownership of an automobile.

Reclaim the Streets Halifax wants City Hall to include bike lanes to all main arterial street
designs so cyclists may commute or shop safely.

To repave the gutters where most cyclists have to be and turn the sewer grates so they are
perpendicular to our wheels not dangerously parallel as they are now.

Reclaim the Streets Halifax also demands that Metro Transit speed up the installation of bike racks
on all the busses.
