Space in our BuildingOur handicap accessible facility provides an intimate and friendly setting for small to medium sized events, perfect for conferences, workshops, openings, book launches, weddings and dedications, and other special events. We are centrally located in south end Halifax at 5500 Inglis Street with ample street parking and some on site parking. We are a Provincially registered heritage property. Our building is richly layered in history, and adorned with architectural details and many other historic features. Our main service room seats up to 90 but groups of only 20 or 30 are comfortable here. The reception room between the service room and the main entry is a handsome 19th century ballroom that doubles as an art gallery. Normally there is art work on the walls to view and add to your experience. This room is good for small gatherings (8 - 15 seated) and receptions (60 standing). The reception room also features a large outdoor patio useable from Spring to Autumn. The patio overlooks a large treed back yard. Adjacent both the reception room and the service room is a full service kitchen. The building is available for bookings six nights per week (no Sundays), full days, or multiple bookings over a season. We ask $30/hour (minimum $50). Call about our nonprofit rates.
