Fellowship

The Fellowship Committee schedules festive events celebrated by the Church. Also scheduled are outdoor activities and indoor gatherings at members' homes. Let us know what activities you desire so we can accommodate you.

How do I know what's going on?

All scheduled events are announced in the monthly newsletter, with a contact person for further details. Check the Order of Service for reminder notices or changes to scheduled events, and see the notice board at the front door for sign up sheets about upcoming social events. Many events are open to all ages, and at some events a program is provided for the younger generation.

  • Dinners/Lunches for Eight

What are they? This ingenious program provides the chance to become acquainted with other members at more leisure than is possible during coffee hour or larger social gatherings. How do they work? A member offers their home for seven guests who each bring a dish - potluck or rostered. Interested? Add your name to the sign up sheet at the front door. A host will contact you to invite you to a dinner. Many lasting friendships have started at a Dinner for Eight.
  • Potlucks

During the church year, there are many after-service receptions or evening parties arranged around special events. By each contributing part of a meal, we all enjoy a wonderful variety of dishes, good companionship and the very real spirit of being actively involved in our community. These events include: New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Flower Communion (Easter Sunday), Summer Picnic, Ingathering Service (September), Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Outdoor Activities

Enjoy our outdoor activities such as picnicking, swimming, canoeing, hiking, birdwatching, cycling, maple syrup gathering and fruit picking.
  • Indoor pursuits

Past events have included play readings, movie nights, games evenings, folk dancing, sewing bees, along with Fundraisers and Coffee Houses when we enjoy the musical talents of many.
