Bulkmailer Report (#4) - Jan 31. 1996

[Next] [Index] [Previous]

Some progress has been made on the module that will check for mail when a user logs on. (parts of it actually work...!)

* David Murdoch is starting work on the input form.

We expect to provide the user with a couple of options:

- send mail to all forwarded addresses without waiting for a login (Yes/No). This would occur on the send-date.

- select one of several "standard" user lists or "recipient_list.file"

Some of the lists such as the "all-users" list will likely be revised between the time that the message is input and the "expiry-date".

Probablly the standard list option-buttons will 'point' to lists that are updated overnight by cron.

There are several issues relating to creating the message (header) that we should probablly receive input on...

Below is an example of a local message header.... assuming that we are appending a message directly to the users inbox...

1) should we create a custom message id... <BM-xxxxx>,
2) or do a... get_message_id_number(increment)
