When we first put this site together, it was the summer of 2004.
People were heading to the beach here in "Canada's Ocean Playground"
and from all around the province stories were emerging
of communities rallying to defend themselves
against being denied access to our coastline, to our beaches.

This is one of those stories-
hung out on a backdrop of a four-strand barbed wire fence.
Behind the story, our grandchildren and our grandparents are still
climbing over, crawling under, walking around the fence with us
in defiance of the "No Trespassing" signs.

This site started life as a July 28,2004 report to our community on issues identified at a public meeting June 16,2004. The Vision, Outcomes and Options were unanimously endorsed, as presented here.

The original Committee was given an extended mandate to undertake the Action items identified in the report. We have also continued to gather information, and are adding it to the report as it becomes available. We encourage all contributions which will correct inaccuracies or add further detail to the report.
