On-line Editing
page top
Assuming that you would like to edit your own tapes, this workshop will cover post-production from source tapes to titles. We will start with the off-line process, dubbing Hi-8 footage to video tape for a 3/4" off-line edit. After using burned in time-code to compile an edit list, we will proceed with an orientation to the Betacam suite. Working from a prepared edit list, we will do an On-line Beta edit with dissolves, slo-mo, and simple wipes and keys. We will use the graphics computer to do still-page titling and text scrolls for a finished product. The workshop finale will be an enticing demonstration of the world of special effects. This workshop will focus on creative uses of technology and on organizational skills that will leave your mind free to experiment artistically. As part of this workshop you will produce a small video.
