Alphanumeric:
                
 - Strings of symbols comprised of alphabetical
                 and numerical characters.

Apple:
                
 - A family of personal computers introduced by Apple
                    Computer in 1984 that features a graphic user interface
                    (GUI).

Applications Software:
                
 - A computer program used to perform specific tasks
                 such as word processing, number crunching, or accounting.
                 
 
- 
Archive:
                
 - A file or series of files contaning data
                 made with the idea that it be kept as a repository
                 or backup for future retrieval. Archives are typically
                 in a compressed format.
                
                 
                - A file attribute set by DOS, OS/2 or Windows that
                 denotes a file is new or has been modified. It is
                 designated by trhe letter `A' in file listings.

ASCII:
                
 - American Standard for Coded Information
                 Interchange. A set of standardised computer codes to
                 represent letters and graphic symbols. ASCII is a universal
                 computing standard that can be recognised by systems old
                 and new.
