GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Parallel:
                
 - To transmit bits of information simultaneously (as
                 opposed to serial which sends one bit at a time).
 
- 
Pascal:
                
 - A structured programming language.
 
- 
Peripheral:
                
 - An auxiliary device connected to a computer, i.e. a 
                 printer, modem, plotter.
 
- 
Printer:
                
 - Any device that accepts information from the computer and 
                 prints it on paper. These would include dot-matrix, daisy
                 wheel, plotter, ink jet, thermal, and laser.
 
- 
Program:
                
 - A series of computer instructions that tell the computer
                 to perform some function.
