Youth Bible Study

YOUTH

The Church of Saint Andrew Youth Bible Study meets every Sunday at 9:15am from September to June and is a place for youth to come together to learn, talk and share how the lessons of the Bible can relate to them as young people.

Our class is a confidential environment where everyone is free to express their beliefs and viewpoints and this generally leads to some lively discussions. It is also a pressure free environment where you can speak or read as much or as little as you are comfortable with. This year we are going to be learning from each other with various members of the class responsible for the weekly lesson on a rotating basis.

Our primary study guide is the “Seasons of the Spirit”, but many times we use a variety of ways to study the Bible including guest speakers, movies or music and are always welcoming of new ideas and suggestions.

The Youth Bible Study is also very active in other church activities such taking a lead role in the “Fun in the Son” event, leading the Good Friday family service, volunteering at various Church fundraisers and taking time to clean up the Church grounds. We also enjoy doing activities outside of the Church including bowling, movies, pizza and games. The friendships made in class are one of the greatest benefits of being in the Bible Study. The Youth Bible Study also supports our members who are looking to participate in various events throughout the diocese such as TEC, DYC and CLAY. For more information please contact Chris James.

Teens Encounter Christ:
Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island
The TEC Website is at http://sites.google.com/site/tecnsandpei/

What is TEC? Teens Encounter Christ is an Anglican based weekend retreat that is open to all youth (of any Christian denomination) aged 16-21. TEC is an awesome opportunity to build lasting Christian friendships and to grow in your relationship with Christ through a series of talks, discussions, lively music, and enjoyable worship.

TEC isn't a secret but it is full of surprises! A secret is something to keep from others; TEC is not a secret! You should feel free to discuss your weekend with your parents and others who are close to you. There are a few planned surprises that add to the festive tone of the weekend. Information is available for those who would like to know more. TEC takes place the long weekend in May, please keep in touch for further details.

For more information on either DYC or TEC please visit the Diocesan Youth & Family Ministry site online at nspeidiocese.ca
